The Owner of Lideco Hoai Duc project will invest an additional 150 billion VND in securities.
Lideco plans to invest an additional 150 billion VND in securities after having already disbursed 143 billion VND for this activity.
Recently, the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Urban Development Corporation of Tu Liem (Lideco, stock code: NTL) announced a resolution approving Chairman Le Minh Tuan to direct the implementation of short-term securities investments on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX). The additional limit for this investment is 150 billion VND.
According to Lideco's audited financial statement for 2024, at the end of last year, the company had an investment portfolio with a book value of 143 billion VND, equivalent to over 6% of its total assets. However, the fair value of this investment is 132.7 billion VND, corresponding to the company temporarily recording a loss of over 11 billion VND at the end of last year. Lideco has also set aside more than 11 billion VND for trading securities.
The company's investment portfolio includes EVG, HDG, NVL, PAN, QCG, and TCH. The company spent 132.5 billion VND to purchase over 8 million shares of TCH from Hoang Huy Financial Services Investment Corporation, but the recorded fair value is 121 billion VND. Lideco also incurred a loss of 55 million VND when investing in NVL shares of Novaland. The company sold 190,000 shares of VHM in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Lideco was formerly the Tu Liem Construction Enterprise, established in 1974. This enterprise is the investor of the Lideco Bai Muoi urban area project in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province; the new urban area of Dich Vong, Cau Giay district; and the new urban area north of National Highway 32 (Lideco urban area) in Hoai Duc.
Last year, Lideco's revenue nearly doubled to 1.489 trillion VND. The company's pre-tax profit increased by over 160% to 838 billion VND, exceeding the plan. According to the leadership, the company gained significant profits from the transfer of the remaining land use rights at the Lideco Bai Muoi project.
In 2025, Lideco will present its shareholders with a plan for total revenue of only 80 billion VND and a pre-tax profit of 30 billion VND. This is also the lowest revenue and profit since its listing in 2007.
